A Traditional Tree-Lighting Ceremony at The Bravern will Bring in the Holiday Spirit

Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with a traditional tree-lighting ceremony at The Bravern. The shopping center is hosting Enchanted Holidays at The Bravern, with holiday festivities gracing the mall for the month leading up to Christmas. Donation proceeds will benefit The Moyer Foundation, which supports children in distress. Sparkling lights and live garland will sprawl throughout the center, bringing the holiday spirit for holiday shopping.
The 35-foot-tall tree will light up on Friday, Nov. 18 in a ceremony hosted by Kevin Joyce, former performer and director at Teatro Zinzanni. Santa Claus will set up sleigh for the festivities, bringing with him Jamie and Karen Moyer of The Moyer Foundation and two children from the foundation’s Camp Mariposa. Bells of the Sound, along with Captain Smarty Pants and Sensible Shoes, will be performing seasonal tunes for the ceremony.
The Dickens Carolers will serenade the audience with traditional carols for the rest of the evening, during which families can sit by the fire, enjoy seasonal beverages and take pony rides. Donations are accepted for all activities and will benefit The Moyer Foundation. The event takes place from 5-8 p.m. and Santa will light the tree at 6 p.m.
Enchanted Holidays at The Bravern will continue throughout the rest of the season. Santa will be available for photos from noon to 6 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday from Nov. 25 to Dec. 13 and everyday from Dec. 14-24. Anyone who sits on Santa’s lap will get a free cupcake from Trophy Cupcakes. There will also be Dear Santa letter-writing stations at Silberman Brown Stationers.
Pony rides will be available every Saturday and Sunday from Nov. 26 to Dec. 24 from noon to 6 p.m., donation encouraged. Every Friday evening, live entertainment will be offered.
The Bravern is offering some special events, as well. On Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 12 p.m., Sur La Table will host cookie decorating. Santa will take photos with pets on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 6-8 p.m. He will also be hosting breakfast at Mariposa at Neiman Marcus on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Saturday, Dec. 10 at 9 a.m. Call (425) 452-3333 for breakfast reservations.
