Time to ring in the Year of the Dragon! Celebrate Chinese New Year with free cultural events from Sponge Language School. On Saturday, Feb. 4, Sponge will welcome the community to its Seattle location, where the Seattle Chinese Community Girls Drill Team will perform cultural dances. Head to Sponge in Bellevue on Sunday, Feb. 12 for another celebration, which will feature Chinese dragon puppet-making, traditional good luck foods, a story about the Chinese zodiac and mini Mandarin language classes.
Both events run from 10 a.m. – noon. RSVPs are recommended for the events and required for the Mandarin classes in Bellevue. Call 206-227-7138 or email info@spongeschool.com to RSVP.
Sponge offers classes for children in Spanish, French, Mandarin and Japanese. Sponge is located at 3107 S. Day St. in Seattle and 13219 N.E. 20th St., Suite 203 in Bellevue.
