Seattle Pastry Chef Kim Maher draws on her passion and background in the fine arts in the creation of her visually enticing and delightfully delicious desserts, pastries, and confections. Before entering the culinary scene she was involved in the world of Seattle glass blowing, but was drawn to the culinary arts by the fascinating similarity between blown glass and blown sugar. Mahar is the Pastry Chef at popular Seattle restaurant RN74 and is constantly experimenting with modernist techniques and new ingredients to create one of the most memorable dessert menus in the city. Chef Kim will be presenting two cooking classes on Nov. 4 from 11am to 1pm and again from 2-4pm on how to make tantalizingly sweet Pumpkin Brioche Sticky Buns. There is room for ten lucky cooks to get together for a pre-holiday celebration. For $60, each member will receive printed recipes for the brioche and other holiday recipes, trade secrets from Chef Kim, a tour of RN74’s kitchen, and more! Not able to make the class? From Nov. 7-21, Kim will be baking these divine tarts daily for pick from her kitchen to your own. For full information visit RN74.
