Inside the 2017 Northwest Flower & Garden Show

IMG_6439If you’ve never been to the Northwest Flower & Garden show at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle you should go this weekend. The 2017 show entitled, “Taste of Spring” is happening now through Sunday Feb. 26.

It’s full of giant show gardens, a garden marketplace where you can buy everything from fresh lavender to jewelry and art, and seminars hosted by well-known folks in the industry. There is even a tasting corner and gourmet food area where you can sample honey, jam, fudge, and more.

IMG_6422This year our 425 Editor’s Pick went to “An Evening in the Mountains.” Garden No. 13 is simply swoon-worthy with all the natural Northwest touches that make it perfect. From berry bushes to a refreshing creek, waterfall and pond that has minimal standing water in the design, so it won’t be a breeding ground for mosquitos. The garden had a romantic table, a cabin with a chandelier, and a seating area surrounding a fire pit.  It is like “glamping” for your backyard and one of our favorites in the show.
