Labor Day Weekend Guide

If you need something to do this Labor Day Weekend — don’t say we didn’t give you plenty of options. Summer is coming to a close, and with that Labor Day festivities are in full swing. Labor Day is a public holiday in honor of working people around the United States and in Canada the first Monday of September. So if you are interested in taking advantage of a three-day weekend to say farewell to the last few days of summer, check out the following events happening around Washington.

Bumbershoot

Of course the Seattle based music festival, Bumbershoot, held annually on Labor Day had to make the top of the list. Near the Seattle Center, this international music and arts festival has everything from a top of the line music line-up and well-known food vendors to a yoga stage and “youngershoot” for your kiddos! This is the priciest activity on the list, but seeing Lorde, Weezer, Foster The People, and dozens more under the Space Needle is an experience you won’t forget.

Evergreen State Fair

Nothing says summer like family fun at the fair.  Catch the final weekend of the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe. Concerts, carnivals, and animals surely entertain the entire family over Labor Day. Plan your trip and purchase tickets here.

Washington State Fair

Visit the place for family fun — The Washington State Fair! For 20 days in September your whole family can enjoy rides, entertainment, animals, and of course those delicious elephant ears. The fun will kick off on Friday, September 1 with some Labor Day end of summer deals — BECU Free Kids’ Day, Military Appreciation Day and Big Washington Bobblehead Giveaway.

Oak Harbor Festival

The annual Oak Harbor Music Festival will span two stages, with 30 bands, two beer gardens, food vendors, and arts and crafts — plus, it’s free! On Sept. 1-3 be inspired by music during this community celebration in historic downtown Oak Harbor.
