Sip Three Skinny Cocktails

Try these summery drinks that won’t make you feel horrible, crash your blood sugar, or cancel out an entire day of eating well. Cheers to a healthy summer!

Sarah’s Classic Healthy Margarita
(Serves 2)

This is one of my favorite cocktails any time of year, and can be easily tweaked to add other fun flavors. Try muddled blackberries, infused jalapeño tequila, lemons instead of limes, or a splash of ginger kombucha or fresh-pressed beet juice. Garnish with extra lime wedges or wheels.

3 ounces high-quality tequila
2 limes, juiced
2 splashes of Cointreau
6 ounces club soda

Split ingredients between two glasses, and add in this order: club soda, tequila, lime juice, and Cointreau. Stir well. Add ice and extra lime wedges to serve.

Cucumber Basil Gin + Tonic
(Serves 2)

For the best results, use natural tonic water with no high-fructose corn syrup. Feel free to change the herbs and garnishes to whatever is in season.

3 ounces high-quality gin
1 lime, juiced
6 ounces club soda
3 ounces natural tonic water
¼ cucumber, sliced
4 large basil leaves

Muddle basil, lime juice, and gin in a glass or cocktail shaker. Add cucumber slices, club soda, and tonic. Pour over ice to serve, and garnish with extra lime wedges.

Fresh Grapefruit Greyhound

Also great made with fresh orange or lemon juice. Garnish with extra grapefruit slices to serve.

3 ounces high-quality vodka
1 grapefruit juiced (about 6 ounces)
6 ounces club soda

Split ingredients between two glasses with ice. Stir well and serve.
