If you’ve always enjoyed watching the annual Macy’s tree and star lighting (formerly known as the Bon Marche) every holiday season, now you can light the star.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the company is allowing the public in Bellevue and around the world to have their “15 Seconds of Stardom.” The program will keep the spirit alive by letting people activate their own remotely operated customized lighting of the star beginning Nov. 27 and lasting through Jan. 6.
For 15 seconds, you can control the rhythm and colors of the star and capture a photo to share “your” star on social media, holiday cards, and more. Visit 15secondsofstardom.com to make a lighting reservation and payment. Proceeds will benefit Mary’s Place.
