Virtual Planetarium Show at the Pacific Science Center

Good news: The Pacific Science Center’s Planetarium Shows have now gone virtual! So, blast off into outer space, travel through the far reaches of the universe, and explore the planets through the new virtual event. Discussions on current astronomy and recent discoveries will be held with each live show, where presenters will talk about fun topics of interest. The live stream, available on the Pacific Science Center’s YouTube channel ad Facebook page, will take place from 1–2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27. The event, recommended for ages 5 and above, is free to attend but donations are welcomed to help support PacSci. So, grab some popcorn, kick back, and enjoy the show.

NASA Watch Party

Calling all space fanatics: On Wednesday, May 27, the Newcastle Library and King County Library System are coming together to host a live NASA/SpaceX crew launch party! Taking place from 1–2:30 p.m., you can watch as astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley travel to the International Space Station as the first astronauts to travel onto a commercially built American rocket, the SpaceX Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon spacecraft. A review on historic moments in SpaceX rocket development will also be held prior to watching the main event on NASA TV (the launch is scheduled at 1:33 p.m.). This virtual event is for ages 8 and up, and parents are advised to watch along with.
