3 to See: Film, Fashion, and Affordable Housing

Tasveer South Asian Film Festival

The Tasveer South Asian Film Festival kicks off on Sept. 26th, bringing more than 60 films from across South Asia to screens throughout the South Puget Sound. The festival’s 2019 season will spotlight Indian films, but also will feature movies from around the region, including Tibet, Myanmar, Afghanistan, and diasporas in the U.S. and Canada. Now in its 14 year, TSAFF is the largest South Asian film festival in the U.S. The series runs through Oct. 6th. Find a full schedule and tickets for films, galas, and special events at TSAFF’s website.

Raise the Roof for Affordable Housing

The nonprofit Imagine Housing develops affordable housing across the Eastside and is working to find 1,000 affordable homes for 2,400 people by 2022. Help them reach that goal this weekend at their Raise the Roof Fundraiser. On Oct. 2rd, join them at Issaquah’s Pickering Barn for a night of live music and creative food and drink pairings from some of the Eastside’s most inventive chefs. Tickets start at $75 (with discounts for designated drivers) and are available at the Imagine Housing website.

Bellevue Fashion Week

It’s Fashion Week at the Bellevue Collection, which means plenty of opportunities to upgrade your wardrobe and view the latest fall trends. You can still snag tickets to two runway shows, which will showcase fall looks, as well as offer hors d’oeuvres and a swag bag. You can also attend complimentary events and find exclusive retail discounts throughout the week. Tickets and a full schedule can be found at Fashion Week Bellevue.
