3 to See: Gardening & Gathering

Building up Your Garden With Bees

Spring is just around the corner, and you know what that means? It’s time to start creating the garden of your dreams. But in order for your garden to overflow with leafy, healthy plants, you’ve got to prioritize pollinators. From 10 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, March 14, Issaquah’s Squak Mt. Nursery is hosting a Care of Mason Bees workshop in which an expert bee keeper will teach you how to release and care for Mason Bees at home. The nursery has Mason Bee cocoons and supplies in stock, as well as an extensive plant selection to make this your garden’s best season yet.

An Authentic St. Patty’s Day Party

Our favorite, local Irish pub is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in all its authentic glory. Bellevue’s Paddy Coyne’s is putting on a full day of festivities on Tuesday, March 17 featuring traditional Irish bands, dances, and brews. Doors open at 11 a.m. with festivities kicking off at noon. Entertainment concludes at 10:30 p.m., but the bar won’t shut down until 2 a.m. So settle in, grab a Guinness, wear something green, and have a fun, Irish time. Live Music and Wine Tasting

What’s better than wine tasting in Woodinville? Enjoying a free, live concert while wine tasting in Woodinville. This Saturday, March 14, Lauren Ashton Cellars will have its tasting room open from noon until 8 p.m., with live music performed by Seattle’s Tyler Gahn from 6 to 8 p.m. The local musician’s sound is original, upbeat, and the perfect accompaniment to that full-bodied Syrah.
