3 to See: Week of Aug. 8

Learn How to Make Watercolor Lettering

There’s something oh-so satisfying about those calligraphy videos, and now you can learn how to make your own work of art with a watercolor lettering class on Aug. 11 at The Heathman Hotel Kirkland. A member of Robinson Creative House is teaching the session and will show attendees the art of hand lettering. Refreshments will be provided, and students will leave with a practice booklet, all materials needed, and a watercolor project. Tickets are $85 per person. For more information, click here.

Thousand Lights Water Lantern Festival

The photos of previous events have us convinced that the 1,000 Lights Water Lantern Festival is a must-see. The eco-friendly lanterns will be placed onto Lake Washington in Kirkland for a waterfront display unlike any other. Tickets include a lantern and decorating kit. Food trucks, entertainment, and games will be on-site as well.

So Bazaar is Back in Redmond

Maybe we’re biased, but there’s no market like a night market, which is why we’re thrilled the So Bazaar Night Market is back in downtown Redmond this month from 5 to 10 p.m. starting on Aug. 15. This year’s theme is metamorphosis, and the first event includes musical and poetry performances. Can’t make it on the 15? The market will reappear on Aug. 22 and 29 with unique experiences. Munch, shop, and connect with local artists under the stars. More information can be found here.
