3 to See: Week of May 23

Maisonette Pop-Up at Nordstrom

The changing of the season means cute new clothes, and we’d argue that some of the cutest fashionistas are kids. Tomorrow (May 24), Maisonette is popping up at the Nordstrom stores in Bellevue and downtown Seattle, as well as online. Haven’t heard of Maisonette? The stylish online kids’ boutique sources brands from all over the world to be a “one-stop shopping experience” for busy parents and features everything from chic outfits to toys to furniture. Stop by for products for newborns up to 5-year-olds and will include more than 500 choices.

Let’s Talk Climate Change

Climate change is one of those topics that feels so big that it’s impossible to tackle. Jennifer Atkinson, senior lecturer at the University of Washington understands that fear, which is why on May 28, she’s hosting a talk about it at McMenamins Anderson School in Bothell. Entitled Depressed about Climate Change? Moving from Angst to Action in an Age of Ecological Disruption, Atkinson shares how we can stay resilient and actively engaged in solutions. The event is free and open to the public; seating is first come first serve.

Plan Ahead: Rainn Wilson Hosts One-Night Performance

Can we all just agree that Dwight Schrute was the best character on The Office? And there’s a good chance that show made you a Rainn Wilson fan forever. If so, you’ll want to catch the Seattleite’s one-night show, Rainn Wilson & Friends. He’ll take the stage at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle on May 30 with special guests Joel McHale, Chris Ballew, Rachel (of Lake Street Dive) and Vilray, Michael Franti, and more. The show benefits the Mona Foundation, which “believes that education is one of the most critical investments humanity can make.” Ticket prices vary and can be found here.
