Beer + Science = Brewology

Whether you enjoy a refreshing citrus hefeweizen, hoppy IPA, or even the saltiness of a peanut butter stout, the Brewology event at the Pacific Science Center likely had something for you to sip on. This 21 and over event that took place on Friday, Oct. 18 was spooky, smart, and delicious. If you missed out on this event, don’t fret — there’s another one coming up in April.

With 12 tokens and a tiny beer glass in hand, we — as well as the many others dressed in their best Halloween costumes — headed straight for one of the breweries intermixed within the exhibits. Of the beers we sampled, our favorites were: Georgetown Brewery’s Bodhizafa IPA, the Nice Pear cider from Bad Granny Cider, and the Peanut Butter Cream Stout from Lucky Envelope Brewing.

The Halloween-themed evening was filled with science demos, a costume contest, and after-hours access to many exhibits. We walked through the tropical butterfly house (alongside people dressed in butterfly costumes, we might add), learned about astronomy in the planetarium, and sipped on beer with the dinosaurs. Make sure to check out all of the PacSci at Night events to ensure you don’t miss out on any of the Pacific Science Center’s after-hours events.
