Bye, Bye Booze: It’s Dry Martini Time

Many people decide to pass on alcoholic beverages for the first month of the year (or even just a week). Some say it’s a nice body reset, or detox, and helps make healthier choices easier. If you are partaking in Dry January, here’s a mocktail recipe from the queen of mocktails, Marnie Rae of Kingston. See more recipes at



  • 1 1/2 ounces spicy ginger syrup
  • 1 ounce lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce raw honey
  • Sparkling cider
  • Garnish with star anise and apple wheels


Combine spicy ginger syrup, lemon juice, and honey in glass. Top with sparkling cider. Add some flair with star anise and apple wheel.
