At 9 a.m. head to Veterans Monument at Library Park, 15429 Bothell-Everett Highway, for the ceremony that will include a prayer with the Mill Creek Police Chaplain, words from the mayor, and a flag raising ceremony with the National Anthem sung by the Mill Creek Chorale. Lay a carnation at the monument and pay your respects to Americans who have lost their lives defending the nation.
At 11 a.m. on Main Street the Memorial Day Parade will take place between LA Fitness and City Hall North. This is the largest Memorial Day Parade north of Seattle. The Grand Marshal is USS Ralph Johnson Sailor of the Year, Ross D. Woody. Highlights at the parade include classic cars and trucks, girl and boy scouts, a British Abbot tank, cheer groups, honor guards, little leagues, police officers, firefighters, and many more.
Tents with historical memorabilia from the NW Veterans Museum will be on display along Main Street — see items from both of the World Wars, the Korean War, and Vietnam War. Antique military vehicles will also be on view. Learn more here.
