Celebrate National Poetry Month

What better way to celebrate National Poetry Month than to support one of the Pacific Northwest’s only poetry-centric bookstores? Open Books: A Poem Emporium in Wallingford is stocked with over 10,000 new, used, and out-of-print books of poetry. The shop also hosts regular events, including one called Examining Our Earth Through Poems on April 15 at 5 p.m., held in partnership with Common Acre. Hosted by Seattle Youth Poet Laureate Lily Baumgart, the event will tackle the topic of environmentalism and how it intersects with other injustices faced today. Readers include Aisha Al-Amin, Quenton Baker, Namaka Auwee-Dekker, and Sierra Nelson.
