The first Chick-fil-A comes to Kirkland, bringing opportunity to the community
Chick-fil-A is coming to Kirkland, and it’s bringing fresh food and job opportunities for approximately 120 part- and full-time people.
The Kirkland location, Chick-fil-A at Totem Lake, is scheduled to open for business this August and will be the first Chick-fil-A restaurant in Kirkland.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. selected Derek Schiefer as the local franchise owner. Schiefer started his Chick-fil-A career as a part-time team member while getting his degree in Alabama and relocated to the Eastside with his wife and two children to open the new Kirkland location.
“Chick-fil-A has always served as a home for me and my family, and that is something I am proud to bring to Kirkland,” said Schiefer. “My family and I are thrilled to introduce Chick-fil-A to our neighbors, and look forward to serving this great community for many years to come.”
In addition to the new location, Chick-fil-A, Inc.’s new Remarkable Futures scholarship program will give employees the opportunity to earn scholarships that can help assist in paying for college. Remarkable Futures will more than double Chick-fil-A, Inc’s annual scholarship investment and will contribute $4.9 million this year alone.
Chick-fil-A is known for its fresh ingredients, value in high-standard customer service, and offering a supportive work place for community members.
