Classic Farmhouse Vibe

In the Eastgate area is a new, modern luxury farmhouse-style home that has a lot of what people often ask for — a big kitchen, open rooms, and plenty of space for entertaining.

The five bedroom, 4½-bath home is 4,383 square feet and was built by JayMarc Homes, an award-winning luxury homebuilding company founded by two lifelong friends, Jay Mezistrano and Marc Rousso. Most of their projects are on the Eastside and Seattle, and they build about 25 homes every year.

This is one of their new models, and it’s certainly not the drab, prefabricated construction that often comes to mind when hearing the term “model home.”

“This house checks all the boxes for modern living and entertaining with room for everyone,” said Noree Henderson, vice president of sales, marketing + design of JayMarc Homes. This home works well for those who love to cook and entertain, growing families, and even multi-generations under one roof.

JayMarc is about to launch a new custom home program that streamlines the entire process for people who want custom home results, but don’t have the time to invest in the traditional process. The program will cost under $300 per square foot, Henderson said.

Now, let’s take a look at some hot design and décor in this cozy abode. Get your own wish list started.

More Storage — The more kitchen cabinets the better. Hide all the stuff and keep those pretty quartz counters clear of clutter.

Butler’s Pantry — You might not have a butler, but a butler’s pantry is on trend and makes entertaining a breeze.

Magnificent Millwork — It makes everything look nicer — just like when you were a kid and outlined a picture before coloring it in. People want extensive and bold millwork.

Stained Wood Accents — White is bright and clean,
but everything is more interesting with stained wood accents. Expect to see more of this trend.

Light It Up! — Creative light fixtures add instant interest to every space.

Outdoor Spaces — It doesn’t matter if you have a waterfront property, or a small backyard, creating outdoor living spaces like this for year-round enjoyment is a wish list item with staying power.

Large Master Suites — The double doors, soaring ceilings, statement décor, and five-piece, spa bath makes this bedroom feel like the escape it is!

JayMarc’s Picks for the Five Hottest Home Trends for 2020

Statement Lighting: We try to incorporate a unique and bold lighting detail in each of our homes, whether it be a grand fixture in the foyer, something fun in the powder or some other unique detail in the home. Something that you will remember that takes a detour from the typical “builder” lighting.

High-Contrast Kitchens: Moving away from the all-white kitchen in favor of two-tone kitchens, adding contrast with “tuxedo” kitchen cabinets (black and white or dark and light tones
in the same space) or painted cabinets mixed with stained wood.

Hidden Rooms: Pantries, wine rooms, storage rooms, etc.

Patterns: Interesting floor patterns, millwork patterns, and tile.

Wallpaper: Have some fun with wallpaper in areas like powder rooms and offices!
