Desiree Siegfried

Founder of Desiree Hartsock Bridal .

It’s likely you recognize her sweet smile and sweeping brunette locks as The Bachelorette on Season 9, where she met her husband, Seattleite Chris Siegfried. You’ve also seen her between the pages of 425 as she prepped for her wedding and designed her first nursery when she was pregnant with her son, Asher. Recently, we caught up with Siegfried to chat about her latest fall/winter “Heirloom Collection” for Desiree Hartsock Bridal, which was unveiled to the public in recent months and will be available in stores by mid-January. She’s been busy bustling around Seattle and her hometown in Colorado, sharing her new collection of classically romantic gowns, and, in late August, revealed she’s pregnant with a baby boy. — Shelby Rowe Moyer

Go-to beauty products
My mother-in-law’s skincare line, Dr. Lucy, has been incredible for my skin, and my other go-to products are Lancome’s Foundation Stick (I keep this with me at all times for brighter under eyes whenever I need it, especially traveling), and NARS bronzer.

Q&A

How would you describe your Fall/Winter 2019 line?
My “Heirloom Collection” for this upcoming season is inspired by the beauty of times past, incorporating nostalgic and vintage details into modern silhouettes.

What influences helped shape your new line?
I am drawn to the elegance and glamour of Old Hollywood and wanted to embody that era, while also bringing in elements of generations past that make up the heirlooms of today.

If you could partner with any designer to create a line of clothing, who would it be, and what would you want to release?
That is a tough question, because I admire so many designers for different reasons. I actually think it would be ideal to partner up with different artists to create unique textiles and materials to use in creation of a collection.

We’d be remiss not to ask about your pregnancy. Does anything feel different this time with baby No. 2?
I think the only difference the second time around is how fast it’s going by! I’m so busy with an active toddler and with building my brand that the nuances of pregnancy and the weeks are just flying by. It’s been a wonderful time, though, and I’m excited to see Asher as a big brother. He’s so sweet.
