Perhaps one of the most surprising and exciting elements of this year’s Posh Party Trend Show hosted by Bellevue Collection’s Fashion Week, was the very first theme that turbocharged the show: Camp. If you haven’t heard of Camp, we’re not sure where you were in May during the Met Gala’s uber talked about red carpet walk when every mega celebrity dressed in garb so over-the-top that you need to see it for yourself. Words simply don’t do it justice.
Camp is ultra-exaggerated style rooted in the LGBTQ community, and Bellevue Collection’s take was a bit more demure, but certainly exciting nonetheless — think pops of color with fringy necklaces; highlighter-yellow bags; glittering stilettos; and socks with sandals, in the absolute best way (Ahem, go see our own fall fashion shoot. We are all about the socks!). It’s truly exciting to see blasts of sunshine-y tones on a fall runways, which is generally reserved for moodier looks.
Of course, there also was plenty of animal prowess in the form of spots and stripes and creamy butterscotch and plaid palettes. This is the Northwest, after all, and we do love our neutrals. Posh Party was one great way to close out September and reinvigorate oneself. Instead of leaning on the comfort of dark colors this season, we challenge you to put your best foot forward with a splash — or cannon ball — of high-volume pigment.
By the way, you can shop all the looks from the runway show, and this handy “Shop the Look” page on Bellevue Collection’s website shows you where each outfit came from.
