Five Fall Hikes

Indian Bar at Mount Rainier

15 miles round-trip

Why go? The wildflower meadows take on a new persona during fall, when the wilderness is bursting with warm colors.

Skyline Divide at Mount Baker

9 miles round-trip

Why go? Similar to Mount Rainier, the meadows are ablaze with an autumnal glow, and the trail breaks with views of the North Cascades.

Old Sauk River Trail

6 miles round-trip

Why go? Wild mushrooms pop up along the trail, and it follows along one of the Skagit River’s main tributaries.

Perry Creek near Granite Falls

10.5 miles round-trip

Why go? It’s likely the most beautiful fall hike, and also the most difficult.

Larch Lake near Chiwaukum Mountains

12 miles round-trip

Why go? Though this hike isn’t easy, its views of the lake are worth the effort.
