Lords of New York
Lunchtime Studios | Sammamish | Available in early 2017 for PC, Mac, Linux, and mobile devices
Travel back to the time of bootlegging gangsters and flappers in this stylish poker game. The single-player campaign puts you in the shoes of small-time hood Vince, who is looking to score big at an underground poker tournament run by New York’s most notorious gangs. Alternatively, you can challenge your friends to a round of The Roaring Twenties poker, where cheating is actively encouraged.

Distance
Refract | Redmond | PC and PlayStation 4 | $20
Distance is a hypnotic racing game where you must navigate your car through a virtual city that is quickly collapsing around you. The game starts simply enough, but within a short time you will find yourself grooving to the techno beat as you speed past crazy obstacles and make impossible jumps. This is a game that you can easily play during a five-minute break or alternatively enjoy for an entire evening.

Tunnels and Trolls
MetaArcade | Seattle | Available in early 2017 for mobile devices
Here is a mobile game that truly captures the fun of reading a “choose your own adventure” book. Tunnels and Trolls is a text-based adventure game where the choices you make determine if you escape with the treasure or end up a charred dragon appetizer. The starting pack features terrific writing and illustrations, and aspiring writers and artists can easily upload their own creations to share with like-minded fans.

Motorsport Manager
Sega | PC, Mac and Linux | $36
I would highly recommend Motorsport Manager for auto lovers looking to live out their Top Gear fantasies. The game puts you behind the wheel of a powerful sports car as you race to the top of the international circuit. However, you can get super involved in every aspect of running a professional racing team. You can create your own car designs at your test facilities, recruit top drivers, and manage a pit crew.

Shoot Shoot Mega Pack
Actual Humans | Available in early 2017 for PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4
Iíve included Shoot Shoot Mega Pack on this list for its zany humor and crazy action. The controls are simple: Press one button to move your triangle ship around and another button to fire. However, your friends are trying to blow you up, slam you into the wall, or push you into vortexes. If you win, the game congratulates you on eating your vegetables and getting a full eight hours of sleep.
