Peanut Butter and Chocolate Fudge from Ann’s Fudge & Bakery
Assistant Editor Shelby Rowe Moyer
This is not your typical fudge; it’s almost like a thick, confectionery spread. Just as advertised, the peanut butter and chocolate is a favorite and can only be described with one word: WOW. Yep, in all caps. Stop by downtown Enumclaw for a carton — or four — of fudge. (Spend $20 and you’ll get a carton for free.)
Riding the Gondola
Graphic Designer Jorgen Burt
The gondola ride is a must-do experience for those that can handle heights and love a good view. They also allow dogs on board to venture to the top with you. I just got a new pup to hike with me and look forward to bringing him up next time I go!
The Pineapple Dole Whips

On the drive home through Buckley, stopping at Wally’s Drive-In is a must. This little slice of Americana is the perfect spot to refuel after a day on the trail. But what you’ll really love on a hot day is this dive’s Dole Whip. It’s the perfect light, tangy refreshment that will not only cool you down, but also is reminiscent of those carefree Disneyland trips of yesteryear.

One of the only storefronts in the small town of Greenwater, about half an hour northwest of Crystal Mountain, beckons visitors inside with the promise of huckleberry shakes. Wapiti Woolies, known for its impressive collection of wool (and coonskin) caps, is a fun stop on the way to Crystal. The quaint shop with attentive and friendly owners specializes in touristy collectibles, local goods, coffee, and — did I mention — huckleberry shakes.
