The greater Seattle area is known for its flourishing creative industries. Music, tech, art, and even film are all productive and established industries in the region. When it comes to fashion, however, the Pacific Northwest can’t claim the same kind of authority. Aside from a few well-known luxury brands, local fashion is a sleepy endeavor.
David M. Bailey, from Fashion District Northwest, is looking to change that with CONNECT: A FASHION NETWORKING EVENT. The event is an effort to grow Pacific Northwest fashion and to connect people working within the industry. CONNECT: A FASHION NETWORKING EVENT will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. on Mar. 1 at the Woodmark Hotel’s Marina Room, along Kirkland’s waterfront.
For $15, attendees can enjoy a live DJ, a photographer, treats from local sponsors, and one raffle ticket. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available to purchase.
The event will feature ice breakers, speed networking, and a host of other activities to encourage mentorships and new relationships between fashion industry insiders. One major focus of the event is to introduce up-and-coming designers with store owners and other buyers who can help them sell their wares.
