Let it Grow

Some of our local favorites for plant lovers.

Wells Medina Nursery in Medina has plants, gifts, outdoor furniture, and decades of knowledge. This family-owned business has been beautifying the Eastside since 1971.

Bellevue Nursery is a small independent garden center that often offers free classes to help you develop a green thumb, too.

The Gray Barn Nursery and Garden Center in Redmond has tons of plants, gifts, garden tools, and more. The barn was built in 1926 and turned into The Gray Barn Nursery in 1978. In 2004, Pacific Topsoils bought it, and they offer commercial and residential landscape construction services and materials like rocks, mulch, and more.

Molbak’s Garden + Home: The Molbaks came from Denmark and brought their passion for gardening to Woodinville in 1956, and boy, has it grown into a gardening paradise and regional destination for plant lovers. The nursery features an acre and a half of plants and home ideas. They offer classes for little sprouts and their parents, gifts, outdoor living products, and more. We love to enjoy a leisurely lunch there, and the Garden Café was recently renovated, so go check it out. Oh, and did we mention that Molbak’s is pooch-friendly?

Squak Mt. Greenhouse and Nursery in Issaquah is where to go when you want to plant (or get advice about) fruit trees, roses, houseplants, and more. Plus, they have some stunning moss hanging baskets in the spring that will make your neighbors super jealous.

Classic Nursery and Landscape Company in Woodinville is large — they even can print you a map so you can navigate the plants and other cool things, like antiques! The 10-acre nursery and garden center is smack dab in the heart of wine country and extends to the Sammamish River Trail.

The Nursery at Mount Si will take your breath away. They have the essentials to attract pollinators to your garden, like hummingbirds and bees, and plants galore. They can help you with garden design, and there is a gift shop, too.

McAuliffe’s Valley Nursery in Snohomish has so many pretty things to make your garden and home unique, including handcrafted pottery, cool birdhouses built by hand, and hand-cast stone art. Skilled landscapers can make your garden dreams come to life. The farm-to-retail nursery grows plants on 60 acres, and a historic dairy barn serves as the retail nursery.
