This year the Woodland Park Zoo is changing its annual lights display up a bit with an all-new lantern festival called WildLanterns. Prepare to be enchanted by larger than life animal lanterns and landscape scenes as they light up the night sky this holiday season.
As guests wander through the expanse of the park, they will be captivated by the sight of many animals they may recognize illuminating the darkness as they shine brightly within the unique and beautifully crafted displays.
All throughout the Northern Trail, from Australasia to the Banyan Wilds, to the African Savanna, and everywhere in between, revealing the brilliance of lanterned favorites, such as bears, gorillas, giraffes, rhinos, and snow leopards just to name a few.
Visitors will also want to drift into the caverns of the underwater aquariums where they will be amazed by the SeaMazium exhibit and all of the creatures it has to offer.
WildLanterns opens on Nov. 13 and concludes Jan. 17, and operates from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Closed on Mondays, and the following dates: Nov. 26, Dec. 24, and Dec. 25.
Buy tickets here for specific entry times to the park in order to reduce the number of visitors during each night’s festivities. Face coverings are required for anyone ages five and up. Find other guidelines here.
For more fun, enter the WildLanterns Photo Contest by emailing or posting a photo from your visit with tags #WildLanterns @WoodlandParkZoo or #WoodlandParkZoo on social media to win your own exclusive Wild Meet & Greet for a group of up to five guests, which will be announced at a later date.
Plan your trip for a fun outing with family and friends and let Woodland Park Zoo’s WildLanterns light up your holidays.
