Rodd & Gunn, a New Zealand-based heritage brand of men’s apparel and accessories, has landed in Bellevue as part of its global expansion strategy.
The Bellevue Square location, which opens this month, marks the brand’s first Pacific Northwest store and its seventh U.S. location.
Rodd & Gunn, which has long been carried at Nordstrom and other top-notch retailers in the United States, is known for its commitment to quality, as its designers travel across the world to source premium, Italian fabrics from leading European mills. In fact, its collection of apparel and accessories carries a two-year durability guarantee.
Styles are as functional as they are fashionable, and new-generation fabrics combined with contemporary manufacturing techniques produce outerwear that promises to keep the elements at bay. For instance, pure New Zealand merino wool is woven into sweaters and sports coats.
Rodd & Gunn’s heritage dates back to 1946, when the brand’s English Pointer logo was used on a boutique line of New Zealand-made shirts. Today, the men’s lifestyle brand has more than 100 stores across Australia and New Zealand. With the new Bellevue location, it is on target to have 10 U.S. stores by year-end, with locations in such key cities as Los Angeles, San Diego, Newport Beach, Greenwich, Dallas and Dumbo/Brooklyn. The brand also is exploring opportunities in the United Kingdom.
