The women behind andieanderin, Cara Ingham and Lisa Santos, announced recently that their First Madame Pussy Bow — inspired by Vice President Kamala Harris — would be their last.
Ingham and Santos launched the necktie company after the 2016 presidential election and have released nearly 20 unique designs in honor of influential women, including Frida Kahlo, Beyoncé, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Oprah, and Maya Lin.
Like their other ties, The First Madame is imbued with symbolism. The three-fabric design harkens to Harris’ multidimensional heritage and background and is embroidered with the words “Won’t be the last.”
“When you are the first, you want more than anything to not be the last, especially when it means you are the first woman in U.S. history to hold office as high as vice presidency,” according to the description on andieanderin’s website. “Not only is Kamala the first woman; she is the first Black and South-Asian person to hold this title in national office. A symbolic victory for all women.
”If you’ve been craving an andieanderin necktie of your own, this is your chance! Grab one — or many — before they’re gone.
