Green is one of the “it” colors of the season. Everyone can find a shade of green that looks good on them. If you’re hesitant about the color try wearing a brighter green in a skirt or dress and a more neutral green in a cardigan or jacket. They play beautifully together and that way the neutral is closer to your face. Also, note the shoes, another fabulous pop of green!
Fall 2012 is about getting out of your comfort zone. Take a loud or bold print and build off of it with accessories or a simple coat and bag. Play with color and have fun with this one.
Borrowed from the Boys
Suits, slacks and loafers are for boys and girls. Get a tailored suit this season that shows off your feminine curves. No one says “no” to a lady in a power suit.
The Leather Leg
Before you go buy your 5th pair of skinny jeans, consider a pair of leather pants. Leather is really fun to pair with different textures. Try pairing it with a flowing blouse, a fuzzy sweater, or a faux fur. They also say that the leather leg is the new tight. Put it under a skirt or dress.
When Ken Downing, fashion director of Neiman Marcus, presented trends at the Bellevue store he said “Will you ever wear a wrap again?” Tailored jackets never go out of style and they bring structure to any outfit. If you invest in one thing this year, get a great jacket that goes with everything. Jackets are even being worn with evening wear.
Navy: The New Neutral, 425’s editor pick for favorite look!
Whoever said you can’t wear navy with back isn’t talking anymore. Tis’ the season to mix and match with Navy. The color is the new essential that goes with everything, even black. Dress up the neutral with a great brooch, a patterned shirt or jacket.
The Smoking Slipper (aka the loafer)
Finally! The time has come for comfortable shoes. This season you can find anything from a boyish leather loafer to a golden slipper. Both elegant or causal and always practical a great slipper will go with anything. Pair it with socks and a shorter skirt if you dare.
The Statement Handbag
Save that little and light clutch for a special night out because the statement handbag is the “go to” accessory of the season. Add a pop of color with a big bag.
If you haven’t gone through your grandmother’s jewelry box, do it now. Big costume jewelry paired with fine jewelry is the new thing. Dazzle up a look with multiple broaches. Maybe pair some vintage ones with new ones? Anything that sparkles this season is fair game.
The Fall Face
Give your natural beauty a little sparkle with a cherry lip. Bright red lips or darker red lips are in.
