A public groundbreaking will take place next week for the new Downtown Park in Redmond.
The first shovel will be turned at this celebration at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10, at the project site on Cleveland Street.
“This groundbreaking marks an important milestone for the park and Redmond residents and businesses, as we take our next step in creating a complete and vibrant downtown area. The park will be a gathering place for the neighborhood as well as provide a unique venue for events for the entire community in the near future,” said Redmond Mayor John Marchione.
The groundbreaking will mark the start of the final phase of the Downtown Park project. Construction is slated to begin in June and be completed in summer of 2018.
The new park will feature a splash pad, dining grove, pavilion, stage performance area, and a raised lawn with a deck and seating.
