Artists, costume designers, and fashion filmmakers will come together on Oct. 12 to share 45 films, compete in a costume competition, and discuss all things fashion in the 4th Annual Seattle International Fashion Film Festival.
Films from 21 countries will be featured, including fashion meccas like Italy and France as well as the more niche fashion markets of places like Rwanda and Kosovo. Films range from lighthearted commercial fashion footage to documentaries depicting diverse cultures.
Before the film screenings start, a Cosplay Costume Contest will be held in which the winner will receive a trophy and $150 cash reward.
An expert panel will judge the competition, lead discussion about the films, and field questions from the audience. On the panel is Joey Paul Jenson, distinguished Hollywood casting director and winner of the Artois Award for casting. Jenson has worked on notable television series and movies throughout her career, including Disney’s That’s So Raven and Sony Pictures Soul Surfer. Another member of the expert panel will be actor RJ Mitte, best known for his role as Flynn in AMC’s award winning series Breaking Bad and as Wesley Snipes’ co-star, Brendan, in The Recall.
The festival will be held from 3:45 to 9 p.m., Oct. 12, in the Carco Theatre in Renton. Tickets and festival details can be found here.
