Overlake Medical Center & Clinics has partnered with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to launch a joint cancer treatment program, working to help elevate standard care for patients across the Eastside. The joint program, announced this past January and launched yesterday, brings nationally renowned cancer care treatment options to the Puget Sound.
“A central part of our mission is to ensure people have access to the best cancer treatments as close to their community and loved ones as possible,” Dr. Nancy Davidson, executive director and president of SCCA, said in a statement. “We are excited to combine SCCA’s world-class cancer program with the outstanding cancer care environment at Overlake to provide patients on the Eastside with the most advanced cancer care treatments provided by the best specialists.”
The SCCA, Washington state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, will bring together the leading research teams and cancer specialists from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children’s, and UW Medicine. Services provided by the SCCA will include hematology/medical oncology and infusion services; Overlake will continue to provide radiation oncology, surgical oncology, inpatient oncology care, as well as ancillary services including imaging and physical therapy.
“Overlake is committed to innovating and collaborating with community partners in ways that advance the care we provide to the Eastside,” Overlake President and CEO J. Michael Marsh said. “This affiliation is founded on the shared values and care philosophies of the two organizations.”
The SCCA will be providing its services at the Overlake Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art facility that has earned national recognition over the years for its clinical quality and safety. Together, the SCCA and Overlake will work jointly to help patients by providing consistent high-quality care throughout every stage of the care journey.
