Pet of the Month: Honey Bear

rescue dogMeet Honey Bear.

Imagine waking up, going to the kitchen and putting the kettle on for your morning cup of tea. Then you reach for your honey bear, but instead of finding a sweet condiment, you find the real Honey Bear!

Honey Bear is a 1-year-old redbone coonhound/shepherd mix with a beautiful brown coat. She is very energetic and loves to run around in the yard. Though she doesn’t yet understand the parameters of fetch, she gets very into the spirit of the activity!

This sweet girl needs to be in a home with children over the age of 12, as sometimes the hustle and bustle of youthful energy can be too much. Honey Bear also needs a home with no cats or chickens as they are just too much fun to chase. She would benefit living in a house (no apartments please) with a fenced yard, as she can get a bit overwhelmed by too many people and would prefer to run around with her family in a safe and familiar space.

Once Honey Bear warms up to you, she will come over to snuggle after a good play session. If you’re looking for a sweet and shy dog with playful energy, Honey Bear is here to sweeten up your life!

Visit her adoption page and stop by the shelter today!

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter that rescues and rehomes more than 6,000 pets every year. The Silverdale-based organization has a “lives saved” rate of over 95 percent, and never euthanizes an animal due to lack of space. In addition to caring for and adopting animals, Kitsap Human Society also provides spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County and Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to surrounding municipalities.
