Sure, it’s nice to hide away with a bottle of your favorite adult grape juice in the comfort of your own home. But summer is rapidly approaching, and it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy some sunshine. And wine. Lots and lots of wine. Start planning for these late spring and summer wine events.
Summer Concerts at Chateau Ste. Michelle
The Summer Concert Series at Chateau Ste. Michelle is always a big hit. This year’s lineup features concerts by Chicago, Sheryl Crow, Harry Connick Jr., John Fogerty and more, plus special blues and jazz festivals. Concerts begin on June 13 with “A Prairie Home Companion” and ends Sept. 12 with Mark Knopfler. Purchase Chateau wine on-site and bring a picnic dinner. Ticket prices vary.
Women and Wine Series
The Woodinville Wine Association has put together a Women and Wine series meant to bring together local ladies to network and discuss “women, wine, wisdom and wealth.” Remaining series events are on June 25 (Novelty Hill Januik) and Sept. 10 (Chateau Ste. Michelle). Tickets are $35.
Willows Lodge’s popular “Iron Vintner Challenge” event ended last year, but the boutique hotel is replacing it with a new event called “Experience Woodinville” on June 28. It will showcase the best of Woodinville Wine Country, including wineries, distilleries, breweries and food and craft artisans. There will even be a few “quick fire” challenge cook-offs featuring local chef and winemaker teams. Tickets are $75 and include 10 1-ounce wine pours, plus food bites and a commemorative wine glass.
Be an Insider
The Insider Pass gets you admission to six incredible Woodinville Wine events throughout the year. For $180, you can attend the White and Rose Party (May 9, Columbia Winery); the Celebrate Woodinville Concert Series (July through Aug. 16, Wilmot Gateway Park); Taste & Tunes Warehouse Party Summer Kick-off (July 25, Warehouse Winery District); End of Summer Hollywood Block Party (Sept. 18, Hollywood-Winery District); Get Crushed VIP Tasting Tour (date and place TBD); and St. Nick’s Open House (Dec. 5-6, various locations).
