Go back in time at the annual sheep-shearing event at Kelsey Creek Farm Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 30 in Bellevue. The event has been drawing crowds there since the early 1900s!
It will be just like the olden days – only the professionals will be using electric razors.
Fleece contains lanolin that has to be cleaned before being processed into yarn. The shearers will explain that, too.
Other activities include spinning demos, children’s crafts, tractor-pulled wagon rides, pony rides, heritage displays, dog herding, food, and more.
Admission is free. Some activities have a nominal cost. Food is also available for purchase. No cash machine is available onsite. Free parking and shuttle service is available to and from the Wilburton Park and Ride, 720 114th Ave. S.E. and Bannerwood Sports Park, 1630 132nd Ave. S.E.
