Sip & Savor: It’s Love Week!

A Perfect Dinner for Mushroom Lovers

If you’re a mushroom lover, then you must check out the chef John Sundstrom and Sunny Diaz collaboration featuring Pacific Northwest truffles.

The dinner will take place at 6 p.m. on Feb. 23 at Lark. A welcome course will be served that includes a brioche with truffle butter and fried quail egg, truffled foie gras mousse with crouton, and a pork belly steamed bun with truffle aioli and scallion. After starters, you will enjoy a three-course meal ending with a cheese course and dessert.

Tickets are $190 a person and will include a beverage paired with the meal as well as gratuity. There also are tickets for attending a pre-dinner truffle hunt for $150 a person. These pre-dinner tickets are limited; only ten will be available. Tickets can be purchased here.

Celebrate Love Week at Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria

Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria will be celebrating love week from Feb. 10-16. It will be serving a forbidden love cocktail that will benefit a local organization. The chocolate martini will sell for $11, and $1 from each of the sales will go toward Food Lifeline, a nonprofit organization that helps to supply food banks across Western Washington.

The cocktail is inspired by an Italian love story from 1922. An Italian confectioner, Luisa Spagnoli, fell in love with the owner of the chocolate factory, Giovanni Bitoni. Since their manager/employee relationship was forbidden, Luisa would put love notes into the chocolate wrappers for Giovanni to find.

Since the event is inspired by these two love birds, you will receive chocolate and a card highlighting the love story. Love week will be celebrated at all Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzerialocations.

Get in the Mardi Gras Spirit at Bakery Nouveau

Bakery Nouveau will be selling King Cakes in celebration of Mardi Gras. These cakes are a delicious explosion of color. Kings Cakes are available right now until Feb. 25, the day Mardi Gras is celebrated.

Beginning on Feb. 11, chef William Leaman will be adding six different paczki to the menu. Paczki are doughnuts filled with various flavors, such as vanilla bean, raspberry, lemon, chocolate, strawberries and cream, and caramel apple. The pastries are covered in powdered sugar or glaze, making them a great addition to your King Cakes.

Paczki are priced at $3 each, $10 for four, or $30 for a dozen. King Cakes are $28 for a whole cake or $4.50 for a slice. Pre-orders can be made by calling any Bakery Nouveau location. It asks that you call 48 hours in advance before pick-up.
