Sip & Savor: Silly Sweater Season

Sip and Stroll in Your Silliest Sweater

The Kirkland Holiday Wine Walk is happening this Saturday! Don your favorite ugly holiday sweater and head to the Heathman Hotel at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22. Then get ready to sip, stroll, be merry — and maybe even win the silly sweater contest at the end of the night. Plus, this event is part of Kirkland’s Small Business Shopping Saturday, so you’ll be able to support the great local businesses as you walk with your friends (and a great glass of wine). You need tickets to attend, and they go fast, grab your spot by visiting the website here.

A Cocktail for a Good Cause

Support Movember while drinking a delicious cocktail — that’s how Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria wants to help you get involved in this giving season. From now until Dec. 16, stop by to try their “Almathea’s Cup,” a cocktail made of: Ketel One Vodka, Averna Amaro, Seattle Dry Cider, ginger, and house-madecranberry syrup. One dollar from every Almathea cocktail will go straight to the Movember Foundation. So, stop by and have a cocktail. Click here for more information.

Healthier Mashed Potatoes

It’s the season of thanks, but also of major indulgence. With the cold weather settling in, I’m sure we can all agree that nothing sounds better than a mile-high plate of comfort food. You can still enjoy the delicious bounty this season brings and, with a few tweaks, make healthier alternatives. Check out this recipe for olive oil mashed potatoes, a simple ingredient swap that replaces heavy cream and butter.
