Sip & Savor: Week of Aug 14

The Holy Grail of Bloody Marys

Sure, a beer and a hot dog are game-day staples, but now when you watch our Seahawks play, you’ll be craving these daring Bloody Marys at the Wing Dome in Seattle and Kirkland. Just look at that bold, beautiful Chicken and Waffle Bloody Mary, with waffle and fried chicken pieces harpooned on a skewer and lounging on the side of the salt-rimmed glass. More of a wing fan? Go for a Buffalo Wing Bloody Mary. You can find these babies at the Wing Dome throughout the NFL season.

The Taste of Edmonds

Beginning on Friday and running through the weekend, the Taste of Edmonds will take over Civic Center Playfield with a bevy of food vendors, musicians, and activities for kids. Whether you’re in the mood for a zesty gyro, a high-brow meets low-brow lobster corndog, or a sushi burrito, the Taste of Edmonds is bringing the flavor. This event is a fundraiser for other free, community events. For more information, click here.

Don’t Forget the Auction of Washington Wines

It’s finally here! The 32nd annual Auction of Washington Wines weekend is upon us, and if you don’t have your tickets yet, this is your last chance. The weekend, which kicks off on Thursday with a private barrel auction, benefits Seattle Children’s Hospital and the Washington State University’s Viticulture & Enology research. Check out the winemaker dinner on Friday or the Gala on Saturday, enjoy good wine and support excellent causes. Events and ticket information can be found here.
