Dessert for Two
Even if you planned on going out this Valentine’s Day, the winter weather might prevent you from doing so. Stay in, and have fun making these desserts with your sweetheart or gal pals. We reached into the archives to deliver these tasty treat recipes: Champagne candies, strawberry banana ice cream, chocolate malted ice cream, chocolate caramel corn, and a whiskey chocolate cocktail.
Homemade Hot Chocolate
Hot chocolate, a fluffy blanket, and a good movie has never sounded so good. Forgo the premade mixes, and take a crack at this hot chocolate recipe with homemade marshmallows (you can do it!). If you make it, snap a photo and tag us on social media.
Celebrate Black History Month
In celebration of Black History Month, Visit Seattle has partnered with James Beard award-winning chef Edouardo Jordan — and several other chefs, authors, and a brewmaster — to host events and dinner collaborations through March 2. Follow the link for a list of special dinners showcasing African-American cuisine. The next dinner is Feb. 16 at JuneBaby featuring Chef Carla Hall, of ABC’s The Chew, Top Chef, and Top Chef: All Stars. The walk-in only dinner will highlight heavenly soul food.
