Say Farewell to Thackeray
If this Wallingford restaurant was a favorite of yours, make sure your stop by for pancakes piled high or a signature cocktail before March 3. The Heavy Restaurant Group, which also manages Purple Café, announced Thackeray will permanently close after brunch service on Sunday. A casual Italian eatery called Fiasco will take its place, however, with some of the brunch favorites that made Thackeray popular. Stop by in the near future for a vermouth-based cocktail and good food.
It’s finally here! Pearl Seafood & Oyster Bar is hosting its third annual Oyster Madness with a four-week showcase of local shellfish and seafood starting March 5.
“This is the perfect time of year to enjoy the succulent oysters and other shellfish from local waters,” said Co-Owner and Chef Bradley Dickinson. “The oysters are so plump and sweet. Really full of flavor. To me, nothing beats the natural flavor of oysters on the half-shell with a squeeze of lemon, but we encourage our guests to explore the menu and embrace the different preparations — raw, baked, fried, grilled.”
Not too sure about oysters? Stop by for Free Oyster Fridays on March 8, 15, and 22 and give them a try. More details can be found here.
There’s no better centerpiece at a get-together than a beautiful and satisfying dessert, and bonus points if you can throw it together in a pinch. Danielle Kartes of Rustic Joyful Food loves this white chocolate and raspberry trifle recipe because it’s simple, stunning, and easy to transport. It’s time for a game night, my friends!
