Sip & Savor: Week of July 31

This Thursday, Aug. 1, head over to Bellevue’s Old Main from 5 to 8 p.m. to be a part of the Old Bellevue Wine Walk. Enjoy the quaintest part of Bellevue and meet winemakers from 13 local wineries. Creative Concoctions From Across Seattle

It’s almost August, which means it’s almost time to satisfy your sweet tooth at Lil Woody’s in Seattle for the next few weeks. Lil Woody’s third annual Dessert Month features a weekly dessert every Thursday from some of the area’s best dessert makers. The delicious desserts will be available through the weekend — or till they’re all gone!

The lineup includes a blackberry fig pie with a bacon blue cheese crumble from Bee and the Baker (Aug. 1); a fig, anise, and hazelnut cruffin by Temple Pastries (Aug. 8); cupcake burgers made with vanilla cake and topped with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream lettuce and condiments by Cake Life Everyday (Aug. 15); and mole-flavored tres leches cake by Tres Lecheria (Aug. 22).

Sam’s Tavern Now Open in Bellevue

Last week, the Salesforce Tower in Bellevue got an exciting new addition — its very own Sam’s Tavern, awarded this year’s best burger in the state by The Daily Meal. It’s the fourth location in Washington, the first of which opened on Capitol Hill in 2012. Sam’s Tavern is named after the owner of the very first Red Robin restaurant, which opened in the U District in the 1940s, and its owner, James Snyder, is the son of the first Red Robin franchisee.

The new Bellevue restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. and Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. If you go, don’t miss their Bloody Mary, and check out their rotating draft beer selection.
