Sip & Savor: Week of Sept. 18

Plan Ahead: Delicious Destination Getaway

Letting go of summer vacation is hard. But does your vacation time really have to end? C’mon, you can fit in the time for an easy weekend getaway! And let’s be honest, after those grueling first weeks of September filled with early mornings, less sunshine, and herding your kids out the door — you’ve earned it. And we’ve got the perfect plan for you: A trip to the scenic Seven Hills Vineyard in Walla Walla for an evening of amazing food and wine provided by Walla Walla Steak Co. executive chef Chad Bostwick and winemaker Ashely Trout. The Harvest Celebration Dinner is happening from 5p.m. until 10 p.m. on Oct. 5. For more information, and to get your tickets, check out the event page here.

Oktoberfest is Here!

It’s Oktoberfest in Kirkland! From Friday Sep. 20 until Sunday Sep. 22, Kirkland’s Marina Park will transform into an authentic München-style Oktoberfest Biergarten. Enjoy bier by the half pour and full glass, while listening to live German music. Play a round of corn hole or give keg rolling a try. These are just a few examples of the fun to be had during Kirkland’s Oktoberfest. For more information, and to view the plethora events they’ve got planned, visit the event website here.

A New Restaurant You Just Have to Try

A new restaurant opened up this month on Bainbridge Island, and you’ll definitely want to hop on a ferry to hurry over there as soon as you check out their mouth watering menu. Ba Sa is a restaurant that offers traditional Vietnamese dishes influenced by French techniques, while utilizing products fresh from the Pacific Northwest. And the food isn’t the only reason to check out Ba Sa. The 2,300-square-foot restaurant has stunning modern design, large windows, seasonal patio seating, and features work from local artists. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner every day except on Tuesdays. For more information, and to make your reservation, take a look at their website here.
