Student Leaders Selected from Bellevue High Schools

This summer, five student leaders selected for Bank of America’s summer leadership experience will work virtually with Special Olympics Washington in a collaborative project.

Students will interview athletes and volunteers from Special Olympics Washington “to share our message of inclusion and show our supporters what an amazing community we have,” Rachel Hunter, corporate relationship manager for Special Olympics Washington, said in a press release issued by Bank of America.

The students selected come from high schools across the Puget Sound region, including Evelyn Chen of Newport High School and Jared Hu of Interlake High School from Bellevue.

Virtual sessions on how nonprofits play a role in advancing community health, the importance of public-private partnerships to advance social change, and a focus on building financial acumen will also be a part of the students’ leadership experience as the program has been adapted to accommodate for health and safety requirements.
