Take a Bite Out of Breast Cancer at the ‘Wine’ Not Now? Event

EvergreenHealth and local winery DeLille Cellars are partnering to offer Eastside women a chance to sip Northwest wines, while getting screened for signs of breast cancer. In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will take place on Oct. 4.

The ‘Wine’ Not Now? event encourages the community to come together to “Take a Bite out of Breast Cancer” by receiving a routine mammogram screening while enjoying complimentary wine tastings and treats. The convenient, private, and hassle-free exam will take about 20 minutes. Attendees will also learn about the importance of early detection and regular screenings.

EvergreenHealth’s certified radiologic technologists and radiologists will be on site from 2 to 7 p.m. to perform the exams and interpret the images in the Mobile Mammography Coach. The coach provides the same mammography technology offered at the EvergreenHealth Medical Center, which provides state-of-the-art images that can identify even the smallest of abnormalities.

The event will take place at the DeLille Cellars Carriage House. Appointments can be scheduled in advance online or by calling 425-899-2831, and walk-ins are also welcome. Those who plan to receive a screening are asked to bring a picture ID and current insurance card.
