Kirkland residents: It’s time to throw out your “no caffeine after 2 p.m.” rule — Cinemark is bringing a state-of-the-art, eight-screen cinema to The Village at Totem Lake that will feature a café with specialty coffee and ice cream.
Besides coffee and ice cream, moviegoers can also look forward to oversize plush recliners with footrests and cup holders, the option to reserve a specific seat before arriving, 4K digital projection, an inviting lobby with a full-service concession stand, two event rooms available for private parties and rentals, and wall-to-wall screens and enhanced sound systems in each Cinemark XD auditorium.
“We are excited to be a part of The Village at Totem Lake,” Mark Zoradi, Cinemark CEO, said in a statement. “Our brand-new Cinemark theater will be the entertainment anchor to this exciting mixed-use lifestyle center, providing an unparalleled entertainment experience for the Kirkland area.
The movie theater will be the first entertainment entity to come to the 400,000-square-foot urban lifestyle village at 12601 120th Ave. in North Kirkland. The center is already home to a Nordstrom Rack, Trader Joe’s, ROSS, Wells Fargo, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Key Bank, MOD Pizza, Chipotle, luxury apartments, AutoZone, and a plaza with a show fountain.
Cinemark has signed a lease with the development group and has begun the initial phases of construction. The facility is scheduled to be complete in late 2019. A Whole Foods, Cycle Bar, Ulta, and several new restaurants are also slated to be up and open at The Village at Totem Lake by that time.
“We’re excited to roll out the red carpet for Cinemark,” Paul Brett, general manager of CenterCal Properties, the developer of the center, said in a statement. “Bringing new entertainment options to the neighborhood helps us offer a more vibrant Village where people can shop, live, work, and play.”
