Warby Parker to Open Its First Eastside Location This Saturday

The Bellevue Square location will feature the eyewear company’s full optical offerings and in-store eye exams.

While it’s said that hindsight is 20/20, Warby Parker is decidedly ahead — and Bellevue is in its sights.

The e-commerce behemoth, which currently has two locations at University Village and on Capitol Hill, will open its first Eastside location this Saturday in Bellevue Square. It will offer Warby Parker’s full range of products and services, which include optical and sun eyewear, daily contact lenses, and the highly sought-after Clean My Lenses Kit with anti-fog spray.

The Bellevue Square location also will be the first in Washington to offer in-store eye exams and prescriptions for glasses and contacts by an independent optometrist.

Shoppers will be greeted by vibrant red-, pink-, and blue-hued abstract illustrations by local artist Nate Williams, with only a few able to claim limited edition posters of the mural throughout opening weekend.

“Birds and boats are recurring themes in my work,” Williams said. “They represent freedom and a connection to nature. When I lived in Bellevue, I always had a lawn chair in the back of my car and I would randomly pull over on Lake Washington, listen to podcasts, draw and watch the birds, boats, and sometimes sunsets.”

Warby Parker has implemented safety measures including social distancing, enhanced sanitation, contactless shopping, and health screens for team members and patients before exams.

While it’s entirely possible to experience the company’s vision services online, this new location promises a design-focused, warm full-service experience. Perhaps in this case, seeing is believing.
