What’s New at Bellevue Fashion Week this Year?

The Bellevue Collection has been hosting Fashion Week for eight years. Over the years the Collection has made additions and changes to make it the most fashion packed week possible. So what’s new for Bellevue Fashion Week 2013? We tried to answer all your questions below. Fashion Week is Sept. 25-Sept.29. You can buy your tickets here.

1.)    What’s different about the Independent Show this year?

The Indie show isn’t exactly new. The runway show premiered last year and Seattle base designer Carole McClellan was the lucky winner. It’s the first show during fashion week and it’s dedicated to local independent designers.  While the show isn’t new, all the designers who will be featured this year are. Corban Harper, Ozen Company, Wyatt Orr by Liise Wyatt & Karly Orr and Paychi Guh are a few of our favorites. All the featured designer fashion will be on sale at the new IDRS Pop-Up Shop in Papillon through Oct. 2.

2.)    Is Nordstrom only showing menswear?

Nordstrom used to do a show every year that highlighted their fall lines. But with their Designer Preview show in July, a lot of the ladies (typically) had already seen Nordstrom’s fall merchandise for women by the time Bellevue Fashion Week came along. This year they’re switching it up. The department store has partnered with GQ magazine for a menswear show featuring the best of the Men’s Shop collections on local celebrities. The specifics are still under wraps but it’s Nordstrom and GQ, how could it fail? Did you see GQ’s September issue? Amazing.

3.)    Posh Party with a soccer player?

Posh party has typically been the show for girlfriends and young fashionistas. This year they’re bringing in Seattle Sounders star Eddie Johnson to debut his special fashion segment. He’s also hosting the after party at Koral Bar & Kitchen.

4.)    Who’s this new woman representing vogue?

Vogue’s new events director, Cara Crowley, will host Front Row Fashion this year. As Market Stylist and Associate Director for Events, Crowley knows her fashion and will give guests a breakdown of the fall trends at the Front Row Fashion Show.
