What’s Old is New

Vogue Market Stylist Cara Crowley gave a rundown of fall 2015 trends to a room of journalists, designers and bloggers this morning at the Hyatt in Bellevue. Her main take away, the 70’s are back. Here are a few snippets from her talk.

70’s Chic – “Huge 70’s throwback”
“It was only a matter of time until suede made a comeback from its 70’s heyday.”

Shearling and Texture
“It’s going to be hard to find a coat that doesn’t come with a furry or fuzzy collar.”

The Color Gray
“It’s not as bleak as you may think. It’s easy to pull off from head to toe.”

Poncho Coats
“Almost every collection featured a [poncho].”

Simple White Tops
“Tis the season of the white blouse.”

Tweed Take Over
“Menswear worn as womenswear.” (Tweed is traditionally a menswear fabric)

Lots of Lace
“We cannot get enough of the peekaboo lace trend.”

 Comfortable Shoes
“We saw a lot of flat shoes on the runway … I think the sneaker trends is becoming a big thing.”

Fridge is Everywhere
“From bags to shoes”

Color blocking with Shoes
“Not too much color blocking in the clothes but definitely in the accessories.”

“Big bushy eyebrows”

“Everyone around the [Vogue] office wears very little makeup.”
