For those wanting a safer dining experience away from home, and don’t mind bundling up for a truly memorable Valentine’s meal, here are a few notable date-night-worthy winter patios to consider.
POMEGRANATE BISTRO | REDMOND
Working with longtime event catering partner Cort Party Rental, Pomegranate has set up an impressive tent with more than 800 square feet of distanced dining outside the bistro, complete with chandeliers and unique glass walls on two sides of the tent. It opens on two sides to ensure airflow throughout the dining space; clear vinyl panels separate tables, and heaters keep the winter chill at bay, although diners are encouraged to bring a blanket for extra comfort. Dining in the tent is available Monday through Sunday, but check their website for hours: pomegranatebistro.com. Book reservations online or by phone: firstname.lastname@example.org or 425.556.5972.
CARMINE’S BELLEVUE | BELLEVUE
Keeping with tradition, Carmine’s will have a special Valentine’s-themed menu, along with an atmospheric outdoor space that’s been sparkling away for diners throughout the holidays. It has a fully covered open-air terrace, as well as extended patio seating around the restaurant. The dining areas are surrounded by pergolas and greenery, and are decorated with lights, as well as heaters and a plexiglass wall to help block the elements. Visit the site to see the full menu and reserve a table.
MCMENAMINS ANDERSON SCHOOL | BOTHELL
Two outdoor dining spaces are available at the historic school-turned-boutique-hotel: the garden caféstyled Tavern on the Square, and the patio space at The Woodshop. While it always had these seating areas, it upgraded the areas with heaters, additional covering, single-party fire pits, and a new menu of hot beverages, plus plenty of spicy Cajun tots. The hotel is still accepting guests, so make a reservation for a fun, romantic getaway. Visit the website for reservations and other details.
