Woodinville Whiskey Wins Praise from Bourbon Experts

Maybe a bottle of the extremely rare Pappy Van Winkle 23 Year whiskey isn’t within everyone’s liquor budget (pricing estimates have it more than $2,000 a bottle — and that’s if you can find one), but how about something that’s just as delicious and made right here in Woodinville? Fred Minnick, a best-selling author of multiple spirit-related tomes, including the celebrated “Bourbon: The Rise, Fall & Rebirth of an American Whiskey,” did an end-of-year tasting in December to determine the best whiskeys in multiple categories, and Woodinville’s flagship straight bourbon was named the winner of Best Non-Kentucky or MGP (Midwest Grain Products) Bourbon. In a blind taste test on Minnick’s YouTube channel, Woodinville Whiskey Co.’s bourbon was compared to the precious Pappys, and his priceless reaction and praise are testament to the care and quality that this local distillery has put into its bottles since 2010. Visit Woodinville Whiskey Co. in person to see its expanded distillery and learn how bourbon is made.
